Call On Me 02:00
You give me all your lovin' I'll give you what I can Don't say you never needed me, baby Just say you understand Please don't ask any more of me I am what I am Just call on me When you need a man Call on me (When you need a man) If you need some sympathy I'll try to understand If you fall and you can't get up, baby I'll lend a helping hand Just don't ask any more of me I am what I am Just call on me When you need a man Call on me (When you need a man) Call on me

Today I saw the sun shine and I knew that it would be okay You say I "shouldn't be laughing, if you want to have fun then you've got to pay" But we all pay And we all lose the day Try to steer clear of all direct light is what they want us to be Don't you sneer at the door You might get a bite and lose three fingers or maybe more But we all pay And we all lose the day

If you've got the lovin' Then I've got the time Tell me tall tales While I drink your wine Speak to me of your fantasy Tell me what you know you were meant to be I want to be a spaceman And find my own galaxy And set all of the imprisoned free... Take me to your crystal queen Share the demons that I have seen A river to the underworld A light that was cast from the gleaming pearl I want to be a spaceman And find my own galaxy And set all of the imprisoned free...

Don't you know sometimes words can't explain All the feelings in your heart Scattered by thoughts in your brain Where am I going to? What have I done? What have I done now to anger the sun

I had a dream in fluorescent green that we could be much more than nameless leaves on a dying tree Was your voice I heard It sounded absurd Like some bird with magic feathers and a broken wing Let me tell you one more thing I know the reason angels sing They sing for the spaces in between Angels sing for honey dreams She had heard it before It was something she adored But now she was bored By those very same words Angels sing for spaces Do you know what I mean? They sing for familiar faces Angels sing for honey dreams

Ashley Jane 02:14
Poor Ashley Jane She drove herself insane Sunshine acid daisy-chain But she can't complain Or quite remember what came What came before the rain What is it about her name that drives me wild? She stood alone Weeping waves of the blues There was nothing I could do Because the rain came Came down...

about

Review:

I dug this Waltham MA sextet's muddy demo-quality 2013 LP Rock & Roll Shipwreck and even rawer sounding 2011 Demo '11 EP. But their raucous boozy garage psych is AWOL on the much mellower Melting Skies. The rollicking carefree "Call On Me" is Creedence/ The Band inspired blues roots rock, while Nate Wolman's skronky trumpet bleats give "Take Your Time" a jazzy aura. Dan Lombardi's gravelly Jim Morrison like bellow on "Fuzzy Caterpillar" summons up a softer, soulful Doors while the shuffling "You've Got To Pay" and carnival-esque 'Ashley Jane" are scruffy ramshackle folk ditties with groggy off-pitch vocals. The lengthy leisurely "Come Wander With Us" sums Melting Skies up best: Like a late afternoon country drive or a friendly back porch jam session, its informal and inviting. - Mark Suppanz/ Big Takeover Magazine
